According to reports, Seoul Viosys and SETi have jointly developed Violeds UV LED technology since 2005. The technology has been used to clean the environment of NASA space station astronauts.
Seoul Viosys pointed out that the widespread commercial application of UV LED has been limited because the product cycle is too short to be used for a long time. However, since 2019, new patented technology has extended the previous service life by 50,000 hours, making it the best solution for air purification and water sterilization products at this stage.
According to LEDinside, at the beginning of last month, Seoul Viosys announced that as the new coronavirus continued to spread globally, the number of customer inquiries for Violeds UV LED products increased more than five times compared with the previous month. In addition, the company is already working with many automotive companies to evaluate solutions using UVC LEDs for interior sterilization.
